We are pleased to announce that back in January, we completed our work at the Ashley Centre in Epsom for ISG. BCLs work comprised of over 1000sqm of 250x50mm beam casings, vertical fins and rooflight linings in our Aluminium ‘TIMBER EFFECT’ slats, colour-matched using its unique faux wood polyurethane coating, to create a beautifully realistic American Black Walnut finish with ‘non-combustible’ fire performance.
The variety of ceilings throughout the shopping centre showcase the versatility of our ‘TIMBER EFFECT’ product and BCL’s design-flexible systems approach. The rotunda over the flower stall uses varying arrangements of slats – and above the walkways, integrated lighting adds depth and helps illustrate the warmth and realism of this ground-breaking fire-resistant wood effect system.
The project was an astounding success and the new aluminium slats, which can achieve up to A1 Fire Classification (to EN13501-1), look incredible. This ground-breaking new offering from BCL allows for the creation realistic fire proof timber finishes for both internal & external use – whilst harnessing the performance benefits of Aluminium; A1/A2 fire performance, fully moisture/water resistant, with zero movement …. ideal for any non-combustible regulatory scenarios or where designs require greater durability & stability then achievable traditionally in solid wood.
