Moto’s Wetherby service station at Junction 46 of the A1(M), using both external wood soffits and wooden slat ceilings from BCL, is being hailed as Britain’s ‘greenest’. With features such as water boreholes, natural ventilation and over 2000 trees planted on the site, it was clear that environmental impact was of the up most importance to Moto. Another key driver in this project was the need for a comprehensive wood ceiling to be integrated into the internal/external soffit covering the service station, due to the high volume of visitors each day.

All of BCL’s timber is sourced from sustainable accredited sources and thus aligned perfectly with the environmental focus of the project. BCL also incorporated their expert knowledge in acoustics to design and manufacture timber slat ceilings that were acoustically lined, helping North Midland Building meet all their specified ratings
