The new Bournemouth Leisure Complex, BH2 Leisure is now complete, and BCL timber cladding panels feature as part of the impressive external facade. The new multi-screen and restaurant leisure centre was designed by Broadway Malyan, with Vinci Construction as the main contractor and features BCL external timber slat panels to its external evnvelope.
Over 1000m2 of Siberian Larch prefabricated external wood cladding panels were used at BH2, all treated via pressure impregnation to uprgade fire performance in line with Class 0 SSF (BS 476). The complex has BCL timber ‘screens’ incorporated into its external design as well as curved timber panels. The system also has fully concealed fixings giving the building a smooth, contemporary appearance and removing any surface penetrations or weaknesses to the timber, allowing for better weathering and durability.
