Secret Fix Timber Cladding Panels That Look Better and Last Longer…
Timber Cladding Systems:
BCL timber slat cladding panels offer unrivaled design & performance flexilbity for EXTERNAL WOOD CLADDING areas. Our open-configurable approach offers thousands of design options, whilst harnessing the efficiency benefits of prefabrication, to provide timber cladding panel systems that signficantly reduce on-site waste, installation time and prelims.
Furthermore, our secret-fixing wood cladding panels remove surface weaknesses and penetrations from screws & nails to the exposed face of each timber slat, meaning exposed external timber panels age better and coatings last even longer!
Benefits Of A BCL Timber Cladding Panel System:

Fixing Options for External Timber Cladding Panels
We have 2 different fiixng systems for EXTERNAL WALLS, depending on whether you have open-jointed or closed-jointed timber cladding...
DIRECT FIX
Timber cladding Panels are screwed directly to primary support grid, through pre-punched Aluminium 'fixing strips' at the back of each panel. This option is used for when you have gaps between each timber slat incorprated in your panel configruation.

COVER BATTEN
BCL external wooden cladding panels are scewed to the primary support grid with solid wood slat fascias or 'cover slats' fixed on top of panel junctions to hide any direct panel fixings. Note this method can only be used on 19mm thick timber slats.

Species For External Wood Cladding
External Wall wood cladding areas that are fully exposed to weather and direct rain should only use species of 'durability' rating of 'High' or 'Very High'.
Care should be taken in detailing to promote water run-off and maximise ventilation around your timber cladding system to limit moisture build and maintain durability.

Slat Sizes For Timber Cladding Panels
Configure your external wooden cladding panels, choosing your timber slats size from any of our standard dimensions 19, 25, 44, 69, 94, 119 & 144mm in any combination (Note max limits exist for each species)
We have a standard range of profiles to choose from, or you have the flexibility to even create your own to bring a unique look for your external wood walls.

Fire Performance of BCL Timber Cladding Systems
BCL perform full systems fire testing to EN13501-1, in line with Approved Document B regulation for composite lining systems.
Our solid timber cladding panels are typically pressure treated with non-hazardous (zero biocide) fire retardent to acheive either Euroclass B or C external timber cladding.
Non combustible cladding can be provided by BCL using our unique Aluminium TIMBER EFFECT range. This unique system is ideal for replacement cladding or for buildings over 18m+ that require A1 fire rated cladding or non combustible timber panels.

Timber Cladding Panel Membranes
We offer a wide range of technical membranes to work with your timber cladding panel system, hiding any primary support grid or insulation layers.
Typically for large open-gap systems an open-weave insect mesh may be used.
We also have UV resistant breather membranes and even full colour options in mutltiple RALs.
