BCL ‘all-aboard’ with Morgan Sindall at Colindale Station

BCL are pleased to announce we have been appointed by leading main contractor Morgan Sindall to design, manufacture and install over 840sqm timber ceilings at Colindale Station, as part of the significant improvements across the Northern Line for end client, London Underground.

We will be using 44x44mm square profile slats in PEFC certified Douglas Fir, pressure impregnated for FR to deliver Class B fire performing wood slat ceilings that arch across the vast internal ticketing hall, visible from the outside, through its imposing glazed façade, with BCL timber panels sitting between the arched Glulam beams, reminiscent of a traditional ship’s hull.

Colindale Station’s transformation aims to create a more accessible, efficient, and welcoming transport hub for the growing community in the area and BCL wooden ceilings will deliver both organic warmth and high performance Class A acoustic absorption, sitting above a spacious new ticket hall, large enough to accommodate the expected increase in passenger numbers.
