BCL Timber

A Unique Addition to the Home of Cricket

The impressive new Warner stand was always intended by Populous to offer a unique addition to the iconic collection of stands within ‘the home of cricket’, Lord’s MCCC. With its sprawling American White Oak beamed canopy and BCL wood soffits, to the wooden slatted walls of its 135 cover restaurant, serving its members on matchday.

The new development uses 1,000 sqm of BCL acoustic timber panels, paired with a green fabric to match the specific branding for this particular MCCC area. The wooden slatted panels are pre-fabricated using solid European Oak, 44mm x 19mm with a clear FR intumescent factory-applied, class 0 lacquer coating – providing a beautiful slatted timber wall finish that delivers both in terms of aesthetics and performance.

The timber soffits to the lower external canopy are lined in BCL external ceiling panels, creating a contrast and colour palette that is both functional and delivers warmth to the envelope of the building. Ready for completion in 2017 and welcoming its members, BCL are proud to have added value and be part of such an iconic building and project team.
