Coventry University Science and Health Building
Science and Health Building, Coventry University
Coventry University’s new Science and Health Building was designed by Broadway Malyan and developed by BAM Construction, completed in 2017. This was part of an investment programme in the University’s centre of excellence for learning and research. The new building includes a replicate “patient journey” from A&E through to recovery, simulated hospital wards, Olympic grade fitness and sports research facilities and top standard laboratories.
Our American White Oak panels clad the walls and are suspended from the ceilings of the common spaces, adding a natural and relaxing feel to the building. Every panel has been treated with a factory applied lacquer, giving class 0 fire protection which will require no maintenance. The timber is fixed to a concealed support system and has 25 mm gaps with acoustic fleece lining. As per every BCL panel system we provided support and guidance throughout every step of the process to ensyre the highest quality of work was provided.
We are delighted with this project and are proud to be involved in such an important part of Coventry University’s student learning.
