The construction of the new Sackler Centre provides state-of-the-art workshops and education areas for visitors and patrons of the V&A Museum. The critical design feature of this project is the undulating timber ceiling, making traditional approaches highly impractical. With several landmark projects in its portfolio, BCL have considerable experience and expertise in this area of creating curved timber surfaces and were approached by the architects Softroom at an early stage to consult on their design. Through BCL’s unique manufacturing process the required design and finish was achieved on-time and on-budget.
