The walls of the classrooms and laboratories were constructed of concrete and its thermal inertia is an integral element in the heating and ventilation of the building.
BCL took into consideration this increasing emphasis on energy efficiency when designing and installing the cladding. BCL used powder-coated slotted galvanised steel panels. These were prefabricated off site in 35 different sizes. Behind the panels were installed acoustic pads; their combination providing Class A sound absorption.
The use of concealed fixings gives the panels high aesthetic appeal. The design and choice of materials provides a low maintenance environment. Together these factors are the prerequisites for prestige developments. |
