BCL’s brief was to install a complete weatherproofing solution which included steel framing, insulation, membranes and cladding. By prefabricating the cladding panels off-site the installation time and impact on other contractors was significantly reduced. Greater accuracy can also be achieved off-site and this is reflected in the high quality of the finished product.

BCL design expertise produced a solution that was not only highly durable but also cost-effective.
Cape Cod cladding is factory heat-treated and pre-painted so no further treatment is required after assembly of the panels and this was also reflected in the cost.

The use of concealed fixings meant that the treated timber – and the 15-year warranty on the paint finish – was not compromised in any way and offered aesthetic advantages. Vertical feature battens on the cladding also added to the overall appeal of
the finish.
