A truly landmark project in environmentally conscious construction, the Blue Planet in Chatterley Valley is the UK’s first carbon positive BREEAM excellent rated logistics park. With 100% of its energy supplied by renewable sources, power generating ‘kinetic pads’ in the car park and even a mini bio power station in the main structure, the Blue Planet project breaks new ground in environmental cost-saving solutions. It was therefore essential that the procurement routes of this project met the same exacting standards and hence why McLaren chose to work with BCL on this project.
BCL source 100% of their timber from sustainable accredited sources and are even flexible enough to use only domestic UK woods to improve environmental ratings even further. It was these features, coupled with BCL’s clear dedication and experience in achieving aesthetic excellence that made BCL an easy choice. |
